My Thoughts
To Save a Life is an exemplary novel. R. M. Peterson gave us the most powerful pro-life fiction story I’ve ever heard of, let alone read. I couldn’t have said it better myself, to be honest. This is a novel that all Christians need to read, one that all pro-life supporters need to read, one that all those on-the-fencers need to read, and one that all pro-choice individuals need to read, if only for a glimpse into how we see things.
The delicate strength of her message and themes was so beautiful and impactful, and this story is a perfect example of how sticking to one specific topic (i.e., theme or message) can be powerful without being considered “preachy” or forceful. The way Peterson handles such a tough cultural issue is professional and admirable, something I wish more Christian authors had the audacity and the training to do.
A Word from the Author
Two years ago, I was in my room researching a new movie, Unplanned. At the time, a clip of the now famous abortion scene was on the internet, and it left me too stunned to cry.
Watching that baby (though computer-generated for the film) fighting for its life lit a fire inside me. I wrote a scene... A short bit from an unborn child’s point of view, begging its mother to save its life.
I shared it with my writing group and they demanded to know the full story.
That became the prologue of To Save a Life.
I didn't plan to write a book like this for many years... I didn't think it was the right time. But apparently God had other plans. And while it's behind schedule now, I know that when I do get to share this book baby with the world, the time will be just right. Because God is always on time.
Meet the Author
Everyone has a Heritage. Something that makes them who they are. Your family history determines a lot of that for you. Mine is simple: I am a Christian. I am an American. I am from the South. And I am an Author. I will leave that legacy behind one day. Here at Life of Heritage, my goal is to share my Heritage with others. To make an eternal difference in future generations with compassion. I hope that as you look through my blog posts, my books and my pictures, that you may be inspired to share your heritage with others! But most importantly, I hope that everything I do here will bring Glory and Honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ryana Lynn, Author
What pro-life novels have you read? How did they impact you or change the way you saw abortion and the sanctity of life? Which cultural topic is heavy on your heart and mind to write about one day? What do you think is the most difficult aspect of writing about tough issues like abortion? What will you do to show your support for life and God’s purpose for it?
With love and blessings always,
